The Office of Emergency Management has been designed to operate on a continuous basis, should a major disaster occur. Stratford OEM is equipped with emergency power, water, and communications to all local, county, state and federal agencies. We have worked for many years to provide plans and proper procedures to protect our boroughs citizens, while exercising these plans on an annual basis.
Our systems are designed to be as self sufficient as possible with the staff and equipment to handle the identified hazards that our community might face, such as Winter Storms, Hurricanes, and any Hazmat incident. Any disasters that may occur such Terrorism and air transportation incidents will be coordinated by county, state and federal OEM'S along with the assistance of your local OEM.
We do this by establishing individual operations with a specially trained staff to handle incidents that require resource management, sheltering, evacuations, public information, alert / warning communications, fire / rescue, Law enforcement, Emergency Medical Service, data operations, transportation, Public works, etc. The job of this staff is to support and perform necessary tasks to lessen the effects of a disaster should it occur with the ability to react to unusual events. Our E.O.C ( Emergency Operations Center )contains all the equipment and materials needed for any operation. |
